Annalisa Blackham, M.S.W., LCSW

Life is complex – often filled with positive experiences and also times of facing challenges. At times, it can feel overwhelming to manage some of those challenges on your own, and therapy can be a great source of support. I seek to create a space where you can understand more about yourself, the current challenges you are facing, and feel empowered in reaching your personal goals, hopes, and dreams. Therapy is most beneficial when you feel a sense of partnership and ownership in your process, from the first meeting, in setting your goals for therapy, and in setting a pace that supports your needs, healing, and growth.

I have extensive experience working with individuals and families, and enjoy working with a mix of adults, teens, and children/parents. I take an eclectic approach in working with clients to meet their needs, drawing from strengths-based approaches, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing, Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), and experiential approaches, as well as trauma-focused therapies such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy (TF-CBT), and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT).

When I’m not working, I enjoy getting out in nature, reading, spending time with family and friends, and traveling to new places. Nurturing my physical, emotional, mental, social, and spiritual self-care allows me to balance my passion in my work as a therapist.

I meet clients virtually and in person at our Highland Park office. I also meet clients at our Southlake office with limited availability. I look forward to meeting you!
